In Sickness and The Garden

I've felt really bad for Justin as he has assisted me in my illnesses this past week, first a stomach virus that we both thought would kill me, and then these pesky allergies that will NOT clear up. This guy really is a trooper for putting up with me as I whine and watch cartoons.

In spite of the outdoor onslaught on my sinuses, I have managed to work in the garden. Everything is sprouting now and that has invigorated my interest and desire in the outdoors... I've even worn shorts. It's good to see new life springing out of the dirt. I'm always amazed at this process.

Our friends Alan and Sara and baby Lucy have been over this weekend helping the garden as well. We were able to till up one large bed in spite of much talking and goofing off (mostly my fault). We lost almost a whole afternoon due to the tiller not cooperating, but finally after a bit of prayer (and much cursing...) it started and we were off. So far we have 3 beds finished, 2 have been planted. I still can't tell if we're late or just on time.

One Bit of Different

Last night there was apparently an Earthquake that shook the Midwest. And while the ground shook in real life, I was having a dream about an Earthquake knocking down my "home" and most of downtown Rio de Janeiro... because that's where I lived in my dream. The worst part about the Dream earthquake was that no one believed me when I told them about it.

hmm...

why am i crazy?

Blogging weirds me out sometimes. A new blog is almost like the prayer of an unbeliever. "Why would God care about me..." "Why would anyone care to read this?" That being said I'd like to say that I'm never sure what to say.

I am afraid of you, dear imaginary reader and fellow blogger, for you have to power to silently judge me, anonymously critique my grammar and opinions, start comment wars, and ruin both people's reputation and their opinion of others in the blogging world. That's a lot of power to give to someone who's just another schmuck writing their experiences and posting photos. I'm afraid of you, and that's why I never write.

I'll do better. I really will. I'll be witty and cool, post links for every reference, and have topics that are both engaging and inspiring. I'll find other blogs to refer you to, new and better blogs, blogs beyond your wildest dreams. I'll update you on vacations, births of children, shows I've gone to, things that piss me off, and quirky situations that life hands me. I'll post pictures of my cat, my husband (modeling every new thing I make), cookies I bake, my car, my cat, my celeb crush, my living room, that funny rash, MORE pictures of my cat, and of course, baby pictures.

Please love me. I'll write more. I mean it this time.

Coffee Shop Epiphany

I've lost my cat, Tex. I'm rather distraught.

Had a good talk with an acquaintance today over life goals. Suddenly a few things became clearer to me. My ideal role and plan. Strange, all of the things that came to me had come before, but never so coherently. It all gelled and it felt attainable. How very exciting... and a little bit scary.

Perhaps I can put it full fledge in the next post.

Pray that I find Tex. I need her to come home.
